Journal ArticleDOI
Evaluation of larvicidal activity of a nanoemulsion of Rosmarinus officinalis essential oil
Jonatas Lobato Duarte,Jesús Rafael Rodríguez Amado,Anna E.M.F.M. Oliveira,Rodrigo A.S. Cruz,Adriana Maciel Ferreira,Raimundo Nonato Picanço Souto,Deborah Quintanilha Falcão,José Carlos Tavares Carvalho,Caio P. Fernandes +8 more
TL;DR: This study contributes to nanobiotechnology of natural products, presenting a potential larvicidal nanoemulsion prepared with R. officinalis essential oil and describing easy technique which may be useful for integrative control programs.
Journal ArticleDOI
Development of an insecticidal nanoemulsion with Manilkara subsericea (Sapotaceae) extract
Caio P. Fernandes,Caio P. Fernandes,Fernanda B. de Almeida,Amanda Nunes Silveira,Marcelo S. Gonzalez,Cicero B. Mello,Denise Feder,Raul Apolinário,Marcelo Guerra Santos,José Carlos Tavares Carvalho,Luis A. C. Tietbohl,Leandro Rocha,Deborah Quintanilha Falcão +12 more
TL;DR: The present study suggests that the obtained O/A nanoemulsion may be useful to enhance water solubility of poor water soluble natural products with insecticidal activity, including the hexane-soluble fraction from ethanolic crude extract from fruits of Manilkara subsericea.
Journal ArticleDOI
HLB value, an important parameter for the development of essential oil phytopharmaceuticals
Caio P. Fernandes,Manuela P. Mascarenhas,F. M. Zibetti,Barbara G. Lima,Rafael P.R.F. Oliveira,Leandro Rocha,Deborah Quintanilha Falcão +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the lowest mean droplet diameters for R. offi cinalis and I. verum emulsions were obtained at HLB 16.5 (97.12 nm) and 16.7 (246.6 nm), respectively.
Journal ArticleDOI
Development of a Larvicidal Nanoemulsion with Pterodon emarginatus Vogel Oil.
Anna E.M.F.M. Oliveira,Jonatas Lobato Duarte,Jesús Rafael Rodríguez Amado,Rodrigo A.S. Cruz,Clarice Flexa da Rocha,Raimundo Nonato Picanço Souto,Ricardo Marcelo dos Anjos Ferreira,Karen Santos,Edemilson Cardoso da Conceição,Leandra A. R. de Oliveira,Alphonse Kelecom,Caio P. Fernandes,José Carlos Tavares Carvalho +12 more
TL;DR: The development of a novel nanoemulsion with larvicidal activity against A. aegypti along with the required Hydrophile Lipophile Balance determination of this oil contributes significantly to alternative integrative practices of dengue control, as well as to develop sucupira based nanoproducts for application in aqueous media.
Journal ArticleDOI
Anti-inflammatory activity of nanoemulsions of essential oil from Rosmarinus officinalis L.: in vitro and in zebrafish studies.
Raphaelle Sousa Borges,Hady Keita,Brenda Lorena Sánchez Ortiz,Tafnis Ingret dos Santos Sampaio,Irlon M. Ferreira,Emerson Silva Lima,Márcia de Jesus Amazonas da Silva,Caio P. Fernandes,Anna E.M.F.M. Oliveira,Edemilson Cardoso da Conceição,Alex Bruno Lobato Rodrigues,Arlindo César Matias Pereira Filho,Andrés Navarrete Castro,José Carlos Tavares Carvalho +13 more
TL;DR: The results obtained with NECHA in zebrafish confirm the hypothesis that prominent terpenic compounds, alpha-pinene, 1,8-cineole, and camphor, became more available at the target sites, inhibiting the inflammatory process in this animal species.
