Journal ArticleDOI
Evolution of the management of tentorial dural arteriovenous malformations.
Patrick R. Tomak,Harry J. Cloft,Akihiko Kaga,C. Michael Cawley,Jacques E. Dion,Daniel L. Barrow,Bernard R. Bendok,L. Nelson Hopkins,Robert H. Rosenwasser,César de Paula Lucas,Evandro de Oliveira,H. Hunt Batjer,Felipe C. Albuquerque,Cameron G. McDougall,Robert F. Spetzler,Thomas A. Kopitnik,Duke Samson +16 more
TL;DR: A single-institution series of tentorial DAVMs treated during a 12-year period is presented, addressing the current controversies, and the rationale for the current therapeutic strategy is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparison of routine and selective use of intraoperative angiography during aneurysm surgery: a prospective assessment.
Jeffrey D. Klopfenstein,Robert F. Spetzler,Louis J. Kim,Iman Feiz-Erfan,Patrick P. Han,Joseph M. Zabramski,Randall W. Porter,Felipe C. Albuquerque,Cameron G. McDougall,David Fiorella +9 more
TL;DR: Given the frequency of significant disease that remains undetected if intraoperative angiography is used on a selective basis and the low complication rate associated with the procedure, the use of intraoperativeAngiography should be considered in the majority of aneurysm cases.
Journal ArticleDOI
Outcome of oculomotor nerve palsy from posterior communicating artery aneurysms: comparison of clipping and coiling.
Peng R Chen,Sepideh Amin-Hanjani,Felipe C. Albuquerque,Cameron G. McDougall,Joseph M. Zabramski,Robert F. Spetzler +5 more
TL;DR: Clipping posterior communicating artery aneurysms was associated with a higher probability of complete recovery from ONP than coiling, and if patients can tolerate surgery, it should be considered the treatment of choice.
Journal ArticleDOI
Intracranial Venous Sinus Stenting for Benign Intracranial Hypertension: Clinical Indications, Technique, and Preliminary Results
Felipe C. Albuquerque,Shervin R. Dashti,Yin C. Hu,C Benjamin Newman,Mohamed Teleb,Cameron G. McDougall,Harold L. Rekate +6 more
TL;DR: VSS is highly effective (80%) in ameliorating headache associated with BIH, and the procedure is associated with a high rate of technical success, a low rate of permanent complications, and a high rates of stent patency on follow-up angiography.
Journal ArticleDOI
Indications for the performance of intracranial endovascular neurointerventional procedures. A scientific statement from the American Heart Association Council on Cardiovascular Radiology and Intervention, Stroke Council, Council on Cardiovascular Surgery and Anesthesia, Interdisciplinary Council on Peripheral Vascular Disease, and Interdisciplinary Council on Quality of Care and Outcomes Research
