Combined Alkyl and Sulfonic Acid Functionalization of MCM-41-Type Silica: Part 1. Synthesis and Characterization
TL;DR: In this article, a single-step synthesis of well-ordered MCM-41 materials containing simultaneously alkyl (methyl or propyl) and 3-mercaptopropyl groups has been carried out by hydrothermal treatment of gels containing a mixture of dodecyl and hexadecyltrimethylammonium surfactants.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis, Characterization and Catalytic Applications of Organized Mesoporous Aluminas
TL;DR: The synthesis of organized mesoporous aluminas has opened a very interesting area for application of this type of materials, particularly as catalysts or catalyst supports as discussed by the authors, and a review focusing on the individual synthesis routes and evaluation of their textural, chemical and thermal properties is presented in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI
Combined Alkyl and Sulfonic Acid Functionalization of MCM-41-Type Silica: Part 2. Esterification of Glycerol with Fatty Acids
TL;DR: In this article, the esterification of glycerol with lauric and oleic acids was carried out by using hybrid MCM-41 materials containing simultaneously alkyl (methyl or propyl) and sulfonic acid groups as catalysts.
Journal ArticleDOI
Use of different templates on SAPO-34 synthesis: effect on the acidity and catalytic activity in the MTO reaction
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used tetraethylammonium hydroxide as a structure-directing agent to synthesize SAPO-34 molecular sieves with different structure directing agents, and observed an important influence of the external surface, crystal size and acidity on the activity, selectivity and lifetime of the different samples.
Journal ArticleDOI
Thermally stable mesoporous alumina synthesized with non-ionic surfactants in the presence of amines
TL;DR: In this paper, mesoporous aluminas were obtained from synthesis gels containing non-ionic surfactants in the presence of dipropylamine, and the pore ordering was observed after calcination at 973 K.
