Declining summer flows of Rocky Mountain rivers: Changing seasonal hydrology and probable impacts on floodplain forests
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated historic changes in seasonal patterns of streamflows, by comparing mean monthly flows and analyzing cumulative hydrographs over the periods of record of about a century.

A prescription for drug-free rivers: uptake of pharmaceuticals by a widespread streamside willow
TL;DR: It is discovered that sandbar willow (Salix exigua), a predominant riparian shrub along streams throughout North America, has the capacity to quickly remove pharmaceuticals from aqueous solutions, suggesting the removal of pharmaceuticals as an unrecognized ecosystem service provided by riparian vegetation and especially the inundation tolerant sand bar willow.
