Anatomy and white matter connections of the inferior frontal gyrus
Robert G. Briggs,Arpan R. Chakraborty,Christopher D. Anderson,Carol J. Abraham,Ali H. Palejwala,Andrew K. Conner,Panayiotis E. Pelargos,Daniel L. O'Donoghue,Chad A. Glenn,Michael E. Sughrue +9 more
TL;DR: The inferior frontal gyrus is an important region implicated in a variety of tasks including language processing, speech production, motor control, interoceptive awareness, and semantic processing, and Postsurgical outcomes related to this region may be better understood in the context of the fiber‐bundle anatomy highlighted in this study.
Journal ArticleDOI
Anatomy and White Matter Connections of the Middle Frontal Gyrus.
Robert G. Briggs,Yueh-Hsin Lin,Nicholas B. Dadario,Sihyong J. Kim,Isabella M. Young,Michael Y. Bai,Vukshitha Dhanaraj,R. Dineth Fonseka,Jorge Hormovas,Onur Tanglay,Arpan R. Chakraborty,Ty M Milligan,Carol J. Abraham,Christopher D. Anderson,Ali H. Palejwala,Andrew K. Conner,Daniel L. O'Donoghue,Michael E. Sughrue +17 more
TL;DR: In this article, a detailed understanding of the subcortical white matter tracts connected within the MFG can facilitate improved navigation of white matter lesions in and around this gyrus and explain the postoperative morbidity after surgery.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Unique Fiber Anatomy of Middle Temporal Gyrus Default Mode Connectivity
Robert G. Briggs,Onur Tanglay,Nicholas B. Dadario,Isabella M. Young,R. Dineth Fonseka,Jorge Hormovas,Vukshitha Dhanaraj,Yueh-Hsin Lin,Sihyong J. Kim,Adam Bouvette,Arpan R. Chakraborty,Ty M Milligan,Carol J. Abraham,Christopher D. Anderson,Daniel L. O'Donoghue,Michael E. Sughrue +15 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a detailed description of the underlying white matter tracts associated with the middle temporal gyrus (MTG) was provided to improve semantic preservation during neurosurgery by mapping the tracts between cerebral hemispheres with subsequent laterality index calculated based on resultant tract volumes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Anatomy and White Matter Connections of the Superior Parietal Lobule.
Yueh-Hsin Lin,Nicholas B. Dadario,Jorge Hormovas,Isabella M. Young,Robert G. Briggs,Alana E. Mackenzie,Ali H. Palejwala,R. Dineth Fonseka,Sihyong J. Kim,Onur Tanglay,Luke R Fletcher,Carol J. Abraham,Andrew K. Conner,Daniel L. O'Donoghue,Michael E. Sughrue +14 more
TL;DR: In this article, the superior parietal lobule (SPL) is characterized based on relationships to other well-known neuroanatomic structures through diffusion spectrum imaging (DSI)-based fiber tracking validated by gross anatomical dissection as ground truth.
Journal ArticleDOI
Spontaneous thrombus formation in native aortic root in patients with hypoplastic left heart syndrome: clinical presentation, treatment, and outcomes
TL;DR: A neonate who presented with spontaneous thrombus formation in the native aortic root after Norwood palliation for hypoplastic left heart syndrome and aggressive thrombolysis and anticoagulation therapy were major contributors to successful outcome.
