Journal ArticleDOI
Consumo máximo de oxigênio e limiar anaeróbio de jogadores de futebol: comparação entre as diferentes posições
Pedro Balikian,Aparecido Lourenção,Luiz Fernando Paulino Ribeiro,Wilham Tadeu Lara Festuccia,Cassiano Merussi Neiva +4 more
TL;DR: The authors compare valores of limiar anaerobio and consumo maximo de oxigenio entre jogadores profissionais de futebol de diferentes posicoes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Rating of perceived exertion as a tool for prescribing and self regulating interval training: a pilot study
Emmanuel Gomes Ciolac,Simone de Souza Mantuani,Cassiano Merussi Neiva,Carlos Eduardo Lopes Verardi,Dalton Müller Pessôa-Filho,Leonardo Pimenta +5 more
TL;DR: The 6-20 RPE scale may be a useful tool for prescribing and self-regulating HIT in young subjects and no significant differences were observed in HR response and walking/running speed between HIT sessions prescribed and regulated by HR or RPE.
Journal ArticleDOI
The effects of wet suits on physiological and biomechanical indices during swimming.
Ricardo Dantas de Lucas,Pedro Balikian,Cassiano Merussi Neiva,Camila Coelho Greco,Benedito Sérgio Denadai +4 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that WS allows swimmers to reach greater speeds in both, long- and short-course swims, and can be related to the decrease of the AD, since with higher speeds the subjects presented the same resistance, as they did when compared to speeds without a WS.
Journal ArticleDOI
Validation of the SenseWear armband in circuit resistance training with different loads
Pedro J. Benito,Cassiano Merussi Neiva,P. S. González-Quijano,Rocío Cupeiro,Esther Morencos,Ana B. Peinado +5 more
TL;DR: The EE rose as exercise intensity increased, but was underestimated by the SWAs, and the validity of SWAs for the measurement of energy expenditure in circuit resistance training (CRT) at three different intensities in moderately active, healthy subjects was assessed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Muscle strength and regional lean body mass influence on mineral bone health in young male adults.
Bianca Rosa Guimarães,Luciana Duarte Pimenta,Danilo Alexandre Massini,Daniel Santos,Leandro Oliveira da Cruz Siqueira,Astor Reis Simionato,Luiz Gustavo Almeida dos Santos,Cassiano Merussi Neiva,Dalton Müller Pessôa Filho +8 more
TL;DR: 1RM for multi-joint exercises is relevant to BMC and BMD in young men, strengthening the relationship between force and LM, and suggesting both to parametrizes bone mineral health.
