Chapter 7Subdivision of the terminal Frasnian linguiformis conodont Zone, revision of the correlative interval of Montagne Noire Zone 13, and discussion of stratigraphically significant associated trilobites

TL;DR: The linguiformis Zone 13 (13b and 13c) of the Frasnian standard conodont zonation has been subdivided into alower part defined by the total range of Palmatolepis linguiformus and an upper part defined with the absence of the nominal species together with the rare occurrences of Pa. ultima and Ancyrognathus ubiquitus as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Variations in Ce anomalies of conodonts through the Frasnian/Famennian boundary of Poland (Kowala – Holy Cross Mountains): implications for the redox state of seawater and biodiversity

TL;DR: In this article, rare-earth element (REE) concentrations on Upper Devonian conodonts were measured by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry from a stratigraphic section across the Frasnian/Famennian (F/F) boundary in the Holy Cross Mountains (Poland).
Journal ArticleDOI

Magnetostratigraphy susceptibility of the Frasnian/Famennian boundary

TL;DR: In this paper, a non-polarity-based magnetostratigraphy susceptibility (MSS) between the stratotype region for the Frasnian/Famennian (F/F) boundary sequence in the Montagne Noire of southern France, the eastern Rheinisches Schiefergebirge of Germany, Belgium, the Eastern Anti-Atlas of Morocco, and the Arbuckle Mountains of southern Oklahoma (USA).
Journal ArticleDOI

Trace elements in conodont phosphates from the Frasnian/Famennian boundary

TL;DR: In this paper, rare-earth elements (REE) and Th concentrations on individual Devonian conodonts were measured by ICP-MS from stratigraphic sections across the Frasnian/Famennian (F F ) boundary in the Montagne Noire (Southern France) and Morocco.
Journal ArticleDOI

Calcium isotopes reveal the trophic position of extant and fossil elasmobranchs

TL;DR: The calcium isotope values of a Pliocene fish assemblage parallel the results obtained from extant elasmobranchs and allow inferring that the giant shark Megaselachus megalodon fed at a slightly higher trophic level than the contemporaneous Great White shark.
