Survival and prognostic factors in surgically resected synchronous multiple primary lung cancers
Celalettin Ibrahim Kocaturk,Mehmet Zeki Gunluoglu,Levent Cansever,Adalet Demir,Ulas Cinar,Seyyit Ibrahim Dincer,Mehmet Ali Bedirhan +6 more
TL;DR: The survival of SMPLC patients, who were treated surgically, was satisfactory and there was a trend toward poorer survival in patients upon whom a pneumonectomy was performed, whereas adjuvant therapy was a good prognostic factor.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prognostic factors for survival after complete resections of synchronous lung cancers in multiple lobes: pooled analysis based on individual patient data
Tawee Tanvetyanon,David J. Finley,Thomas Fabian,Marc Riquet,Luca Voltolini,Celalettin Ibrahim Kocaturk,W.J. Fulp,R.J. Cerfolio,B.J. Park,Lary A. Robinson +9 more
TL;DR: Advanced age, male gender, nodal involvement, and unilateral tumor location were poor prognostic factors in patients with synchronous NSCLC in multiple lobes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prognostic significance of surgical-pathologic N1 lymph node involvement in non-small cell lung cancer.
Adalet Demir,Akif Turna,Celalettin Ibrahim Kocaturk,Mehmet Zeki Gunluoglu,Umit Aydogmus,Nur Ürer,Mehmet Ali Bedirhan,Atilla Gürses,Seyit İbrahim Dinçer +8 more
TL;DR: The impact of T factor seemed to be veiled by the heterogenous nature of N1 disease, and patients with hilar lymph node involvement had lower survival rates than patients with peripheral N1.
Journal ArticleDOI
Bedside talc pleurodesis for malignant pleural effusion: factors affecting success.
Umit Aydogmus,Servet Özdemir,Levent Cansever,Yasar Sonmezoglu,Celalettin Ibrahim Kocaturk,Mehmet Ali Bedirhan +5 more
TL;DR: In the treatment of malignant pleural effusion, patients with daily drainage of less than 200 ml before TS developed less recurrence than patients with day-to-day drainage of more than200 ml.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prognostic Nomogram to Predict Survival After Surgery for Synchronous Multiple Lung Cancers in Multiple Lobes
Tawee Tanvetyanon,David J. Finley,Thomas Fabian,Marc Riquet,Luca Voltolini,Celalettin Ibrahim Kocaturk,Ayesha S. Bryant,Lary A. Robinson +7 more
TL;DR: Several unique features among patients with resected synchronous multiple lung cancers, including the presence of exclusively adenocarcinoma histology, are of prognostic significance and a simple nomogram incorporating these factors can be utilized to predict patient survival with acceptable accuracy.
