Journal ArticleDOI

Revised ESTS guidelines for preoperative mediastinal lymph node staging for non-small-cell lung cancer.

TL;DR: A revision of the ESTS guidelines was needed because more evidence of the different mediastinal staging technique has become available and both endoscopic techniques and surgical procedures are available, but their negative predictive value is lower compared with the results obtained in baseline staging.
Journal ArticleDOI

The effects of preoperative short-term intense physical therapy in lung cancer patients: a randomized controlled trial.

TL;DR: Intensive physical therapy appeared to increase oxygen saturation, reduce hospital stay, and change the ventilation/perfusion distribution of patients, and had a significant, positive effect on the exercise capacity of patients.
Journal ArticleDOI

The IASLC Lung Cancer Staging Project: Analysis of Resection Margin Status and Proposals for Residual Tumor Descriptors for Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer.

John G. Edwards, +144 more
TL;DR: R descriptors have prognostic relevance with R(un) survival stratifying between R0 and R1, and a detailed evaluation of R factor is of particular importance in the design and analyses of clinical trials of adjuvant therapies.
Journal ArticleDOI

Transcutaneous electric nerve stimulation for the treatment of postthoracotomy pain: a randomized prospective study.

TL;DR: This study demonstrated that TENS provided a better pain relief and comfort compared to PCA from the fourth postoperative day onwards, and this pain-reducing effect continued for at least two months postoperatively.
