Anti-Cancer Natural Products and Their Bioactive Compounds Inducing ER Stress-Mediated Apoptosis: A Review.

TL;DR: In this paper, a review of ER stress mechanisms in major cancers as well as the suppressive impact of natural products against cancers via ER stress is presented, highlighting strategies for cancer therapy by utilizing ER stress.
Journal ArticleDOI

Activation of ER Stress-Dependent miR-216b Has a Critical Role in Salviamiltiorrhiza Ethanol-Extract-Induced Apoptosis in U266 and U937 Cells.

TL;DR: Salvia miltiorrhiza treatment induced apoptosis through regulation of miR-216b and ROS/ER stress pathways and could be a potential drug for treatment of multiple myeloma and myeloid leukemia.
Journal ArticleDOI

MiR-657/ATF2 Signaling Pathway Has a Critical Role in Spatholobus suberectus Dunn Extract-Induced Apoptosis in U266 and U937 Cells.

TL;DR: Findings provide scientific evidence that miR657 is an onco-miRNA targeting the ER stress signal pathway and SSD induces apoptosis via the inhibition of miR-657, ROS, and the activation of p-ATF2 and CHOP as a potent anti-cancer agent for myeloid-originated hematological cancer.
