Journal ArticleDOI
Plasma exosomal α-synuclein is likely CNS-derived and increased in Parkinson’s disease
Min Shi,Changqin Liu,Travis J. Cook,Kristin M. Bullock,Kristin M. Bullock,Yanchun Zhao,Carmen Ginghina,Yanfei Li,Patrick Aro,Romel P Dator,Chunmei He,Michael J. Hipp,Cyrus P. Zabetian,Cyrus P. Zabetian,Elaine R. Peskind,Elaine R. Peskind,Shu Ching Hu,Shu Ching Hu,Joseph F. Quinn,Douglas Galasko,William A. Banks,William A. Banks,Jing Zhang +22 more
TL;DR: It is discovered that CSF α-synuclein was readily transported to blood, with a small portion being contained in exosomes that are relatively specific to the central nervous system (CNS), which may lead to a more convenient and robust assessment of Parkinson’s disease clinically.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cerebrospinal Fluid α-Synuclein Predicts Cognitive Decline in Parkinson Disease Progression in the DATATOP Cohort
Tessandra Stewart,Changqin Liu,Changqin Liu,Carmen Ginghina,Kevin C. Cain,Peggy Auinger,Brenna Cholerton,Brenna Cholerton,Min Shi,Jing Zhang +9 more
TL;DR: Lower α-synuclein, although not clinically useful for motor progression, might predict cognitive decline, and future longitudinal studies should include this outcome for further validation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Inhibition of Wnt/β‐catenin signaling downregulates P‐glycoprotein and reverses multi‐drug resistance of cholangiocarcinoma
TL;DR: This study represents the first implication of Wnt/β‐catenin activation in the MDR of C CA, which may be a beneficial target for the clinical treatment of CCA.
Journal ArticleDOI
CSF tau and tau/Aβ42 predict cognitive decline in Parkinson's disease.
Changqin Liu,Changqin Liu,Brenna Cholerton,Min Shi,Carmen Ginghina,Kevin C. Cain,Peggy Auinger,Jing Zhang +7 more
TL;DR: The possible involvement of tau species, whose gene has been consistently linked to the risk of PD by genome-wide association studies, in the progression of cognitive symptoms in PD is demonstrated for the first time.
Journal ArticleDOI
α-Synuclein in cerebrospinal fluid of Alzheimer's disease and mild cognitive impairment.
TL;DR: The results support a role for α-synuclein even in MCI, the early phase of AD, in addition to being a potential contributor inMCI and AD diagnosis or monitoring of disease progression.
