Journal ArticleDOI

6,6′-bis-(5,6-diethyl-[1,2,4]triazin-3-yl)-2,2′-bipyridyl the first example of a new class of quadridentate heterocyclic extraction reagents for the separation of americium(III) and europium(III)

TL;DR: In this article, the synthesis of tetradentate reagents for the efficient separation of americium(III) and europium (III) is reported together with the structure of the complex formed with euro p-III.
Journal ArticleDOI

Attractive interactions between reverse aggregates and phase separation in concentrated malonamide extractant solutions

TL;DR: The authors showed that concentrated solutions of molanamide extractants, dimethyldibutyltetradecylmalonamide (DMDBTDMA), are organized in reverse oligomeric aggregates which have many features in common with reverse micelles.
Journal ArticleDOI

Separation of long-lived radionuclides from high active nuclear waste

TL;DR: Madic et al. as mentioned in this paper highlighted the main achievements of the research performed at the CEA in this field, including the development of separation processes for some long-lived radionuclides (LLRNs).
Journal ArticleDOI

An Investigation into the Extraction of Americium(III), Lanthanides and D‐Block Metals by 6,6′‐Bis‐(5,6‐dipentyl‐[1,2,4]triazin‐3‐yl)‐[2,2′]bipyridinyl (C5‐BTBP)

TL;DR: The tetradentate ligand (C5-BTBP) was used to extract americium(III) selectively from nitric acid as discussed by the authors, which was shown to have unusual properties and potentially offers a means of separating metals, which otherwise are difficult to separate.
