Journal ArticleDOI

Exosomal-like vesicles are present in human blood plasma.

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that blood is a physiological fluid for exosome circulation in the body, suggesting their role in cell-cell or organ-organ communications as carriers for molecules that need to reach distant cell targets.
Journal ArticleDOI

Mast cell- and dendritic cell-derived exosomes display a specific lipid composition and an unusual membrane organization

TL;DR: Exosome membrane displays a similar content of the major phospholipids and cholesterol, and is organized as a lipid bilayer with a random distribution of phosphatidylethanolamines, and observed tight lipid packing at neutral pH and a rapid flip-flop between the two leaflets of exosome membranes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cytoplasmic domain heterogeneity and functions of IgG Fc receptors in B lymphocytes.

TL;DR: The insertion was not required for Fc gamma RII to modulate surface immunoglobulin-triggered B-cell activation, but did contribute to the formation of caps in response to receptor cross-linking, consistent with suggestions that the lymphocyte but not macrophage form of the receptor can associate with the detergent-insoluble cytoskeleton.
