Journal ArticleDOI

Nanotechnologies for increasing the crop use efficiency of fertilizer-micronutrients

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed an intelligent micronutrient delivery platform (IMNDP) based on elucidating communication signals between plant roots and soil microorganisms, which can be used to synchronize the release of nutrients from fertilizers with crop demand during growing season.
Journal ArticleDOI

Micro-nutrients in East African lowlands : Are they needed to intensify rice production?

TL;DR: This study indicates that the first step to improving lowland rice productivity is proper water management, under otherwise also good crop management in terms of timely transplanting and weeding, and further yield gains can be realised with NPK fertilisation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Rice yield and economic response to micronutrient application in Tanzania

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that soil applied micronutrients together with NPK significantly increased yields in IL and RL in the absence of drought-stress and is a likely prerequisite for maximizing the benefits of applying micronsutrients to increase rice yields in Tanzania.
