Carbon nanomaterials are receiving worldwide attention because of their multi-faceted superiority in thermal conductivity, flame retardancy, mechanical stability, electrical conductivity, and biocompatibility. In this review, a survey of the literature on extending performance of epoxy resins based on carbon nanomaterials is presented. The structure-performance relationships for different carbon nanomaterials modified epoxy are closely analyzed. The performance extension in mechanical, electrical, thermal conductivity, flame retardancy, antidegradation, and tribological properties of epoxy are reviewed in detail. Other application areas including biocompatibility, biodegradability, gas barrier properties, shape memory, and electromagnetic interference shielding are touched. The challenges and opportunities in carbon nanomaterials functionalized epoxy composites are also discussed.

Aligning multilayer graphene flakes with an external electric field to improve multifunctional properties of epoxy nanocomposites

Electrically conductive composites comprising polymers and graphene are extremely versatile and have a wide range of potential applications. The conductivity of these composites depends on the choice of polymer matrix, the type of graphene filler, the processing methodology, and any post-production treatments. In this review, we discuss the progress in graphene-polymer composites for electrical applications. Graphene filler types are reviewed, the progress in modelling these composites is outlined, the current optimal composites are presented, and the example of strain sensors is used to demonstrate their application.

The invention relates to a device comprising a base body (1). A stator pack (4) of an electric machine (2) is connected to the base body (1) by means of a connecting structure (5). The electric machine (2) comprises a rotor (6) which cooperates electromagnetically with the stator pack (4) and is rotatably mounted relative to said stator pack (4) such that the rotor (6) can rotate about the rotational axis (7). Said stator pack (4) is fixed by means of the connecting structure (5) relative to the base body (1). Said stator pack (4) comprises a plurality of stator sheets (9) which are stacked on top of each other when seen in the direction of the rotational axis (7). Electromagnetically inactive first intermediate layers (10) are arranged at least between certain stator sheets (9). The first intermediate layers (10) are components of the connecting structure (5). Torque exerted upon the rotor (6) by means of the stator pack (4) is transferred in the connecting structure by means of said layers.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Turbinenschaufel (1), insbesondere eine Endstufenschaufel fur eine Dampfturbine, wobei die Turbinenschaufel (1) zumindest bereichsweise aus Faserverbundwerkstoff besteht und die Turbinenschaufel (1) zumindest ein Erosionsschutzbauteil (2) umfasst. Das Erosionsschutzbauteil (2) ist mittels einer formschlussigen und einer stoffschlussigen Verbindung an der Turbinenschaufel (1) befestigt. Dies ermoglicht einen sehr sicheren Halt des Erosionsschutzbauteils (2) an der Turbinenschaufel (1) auch bei hohen Umfangsgeschwindigkeiten der Turbinenschaufel (1). Des Weiteren betrifft die Erfindung Verfahren zum Herstellen solchen Turbinenschaufeln (1).
