Collecting Duct Principal Cell Transport Processes and Their Regulation
David A. Pearce,Rama Soundararajan,Christiane Trimpert,Ossama B. Kashlan,Peter M.T. Deen,Donald E. Kohan +5 more
TL;DR: The structure and function of the key transporters and the complex interplay of regulatory factors that modulate principal cell ion and water transport are addressed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Regulation of AQP2 localization by S256 and S261 phosphorylation and ubiquitination.
TL;DR: The data indicate that the membrane localization of AQP2 is determined by the balance of the extents of phosphorylation and ubiquitination, and suggests that pS261 follows ubiquitinations and endocytosis and may stabilize AQP 2 ubiquitinated and intracellular localization.
Journal ArticleDOI
In mpkCCD cells, long-term regulation of aquaporin-2 by vasopressin occurs independent of protein kinase A and CREB but may involve Epac
Marleen L. A. Kortenoeven,Christiane Trimpert,Michiel van den Brand,Yuedan Li,Jack F.M. Wetzels,Peter M.T. Deen +5 more
TL;DR: The PKA-CRE pathway is involved in the initial rise in AQP2 levels after d DAVP stimulation but not in the long-term effect of dDAVP, which may involve the activation of Epac.
Journal ArticleDOI
NDFIP allows NEDD4/NEDD4L-induced AQP2 ubiquitination and degradation.
Christiane Trimpert,Daniel J. Wesche,Theun de Groot,Martha M. Pimentel Rodriguez,Martha M. Pimentel Rodriguez,Victoria Wong,Dennis van den Berg,Lydie Cheval,Carolina A. Ariza,Alain Doucet,Igor Stagljar,Peter M.T. Deen +11 more
TL;DR: The results reveal that NEDD 4/NEDD4L mediate ubiquitination and degradation of AQP2, but that NDFIP proteins are needed to connect NEDd4/N EDD44L to AQP 2.
Journal ArticleDOI
Thiazide-induced hyponatraemia is associated with increased water intake and impaired urea-mediated water excretion at low plasma antidiuretic hormone and urine aquaporin-2.
Nanne J. Frenkel,Liffert Vogt,Sophia E. de Rooij,Christiane Trimpert,Marcel Levi,Peter M.T. Deen,Bert-Jan H. van den Born +6 more
TL;DR: The higher water intake and lower urea excretion in patients points to an important role for polydipsia and urea-mediated water excretion at low ADH and AQP2 in the pathogenesis of thiazide-induced hyponatraemia.
