TL;DR: Preoperative weight loss during intensive specialist MWM did not influence postoperatively weight loss up to 24 months with gastric bypass or sleeve gastrectomy, and there were no significant differences in postoperative %TWL at 12 and 24’months when categorized by procedure.

Folic acid in pregnancy: high dose supplements are also recommended after bariatric surgery
TL;DR: High dose supplementation with 5 mg folate daily is strongly recommended in patients with a history of a previous pregnancy affected by neural tube defect and widely advised in those with diabetes or obesity and those taking antiepileptic or folate antagonist medications.
