TL;DR: In AALF, the h‐mϕ population is expanded in areas of necrosis, both through proliferation of resident cells and CCL2‐dependent recruitment of circulating monocytes, which indicates that they are implicated in resolution of inflammation/tissue repair processes during AALf.
Journal ArticleDOI
Age-associated microenvironmental changes highlight the role of PDGF-C in ER+ breast cancer metastatic relapse
Frances K. Turrell,Rebecca Orha,Naomi Guppy,Andrea Gillespie,Matthew Guelbert,Christopher Starling,Syed Haider,Clare M. Isacke +7 more
TL;DR: In this article , the role of the changing microenvironment in regulating disseminated tumor cells (DTCs) reawakening at secondary sites was investigated in syngeneic ER + mouse models in which DTCs display a dormant phenotype in young mice but accelerated metastatic outgrowth in an aged or fibrotic microenvironment.
Journal ArticleDOI
