Journal ArticleDOI

Levulinic acid production from wheat straw.

TL;DR: The coefficient determination (R(2)) was good for the second-order model and the optimal conditions for levulinic acid production from wheat straw were 209.3 degrees C, 3.5% acid concentration, 15.6 liquid:solid ratio and 37.6 min of reaction time resulted 19.86% yield.
Journal ArticleDOI

Production of ethyl levulinate by direct conversion of wheat straw in ethanol media.

TL;DR: It is suggested that wheat straw can be used as potential raw materials for the production of ethyl levulinate by direct conversion in ethanol media and close agreement between experimental results and the model predictions was achieved.
Journal ArticleDOI

Kinetics of Levulinic Acid Formation from Glucose Decomposition at High Temperature

TL;DR: In this article, the kinetics of levulinic acid formation from glucose decomposition at high temperature was investigated, and the set of kinetic parameters from regression of experimental data provided useful information for understanding the levulin acid formation mechanism.
Journal ArticleDOI

Thermal decomposition and kinetics of coal and fermented cornstalk using thermogravimetric analysis.

TL;DR: The results showed that the activation energy was increased with the increase of the thermal conversion rate, and the changes of entropies indicated that the pyrolysis process was evolved from ordered-state to disordered-state.
Journal ArticleDOI

One-pot production of a liquid biofuel candidate—Ethyl levulinate from glucose and furfural residues using a combination of extremely low sulfuric acid and zeolite USY

TL;DR: In this article, the conversion of glucose to ethyl levulinate in ethanol medium was firstly investigated, and the results showed that the combination of extremely low sulfuric acid and zeolite USY can be used as an effective catalytic system for one-pot EL production from glucose.
