Mechanism and timing of lithospheric modification and replacement beneath the eastern North China Craton: Peridotitic xenoliths from the 100 Ma Fuxin basalts and a regional synthesis
Jianping Zheng,Jianping Zheng,William L. Griffin,Suzanne Y. O'Reilly,Chunmei Yu,Hong-Fu Zhang,Norman J. Pearson,Ming Zhang +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, peridotitic xenoliths from the Cretaceous (∼100 ǫ) Fuxin basalts at the northern edge of the craton have been integrated with data from other localities across the region to provide an overview of the processes involved.
Journal ArticleDOI
Zircon U-Pb age and Hf isotope of Quanyishang A-type granite in Yichang: signification for the Yangtze continental cratonization in Paleoproterozoic
TL;DR: Zircon U-Pb age and Hf isotope, and major and trace element compositions were reported for granite at Quanyishang which intruded into the Kongling complex in Yichang, Hubei Province as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI
U–Pb and Hf-isotope analysis of zircons in mafic xenoliths from Fuxian kimberlites: evolution of the lower crust beneath the North China craton
Jianping Zheng,Jianping Zheng,William L. Griffin,William L. Griffin,Suzanne Y. O'Reilly,Fengxiang Lu,Chunmei Yu,Ming Zhang,Huimin Li +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors used LAM-MC-ICPMS analyses of zircon samples from four granulites to reveal multiple age populations, recording episodes of magmatic intrusion and metamorphic recrystallisation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Accretion and reworking beneath the North China Craton
Jianping Zheng,William L. Griffin,Qiang Ma,Suzanne Y. O'Reilly,Qing Xiong,Qing Xiong,Huayun Tang,Jun-Hong Zhao,Chunmei Yu,Yuping Su +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the ages and compositions of lower crustal and upper mantle xenoliths from the North China Craton (NCC) are synthesized to constrain the accretion and reworking processes that have affected the deep lithosphere beneath the craton.
Journal ArticleDOI
Highly evolved Archean basement beneath the western Cathaysia Block, South China
Jianping Zheng,Jianping Zheng,William L. Griffin,Liwu Li,Suzanne Y. O'Reilly,Norman J. Pearson,Huayun Tang,G.L. Liu,Jun-Hong Zhao,Chunmei Yu,Yuping Su +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the U-Pb and Hf-isotope systematics of xenocrystic zircons brought to the surface by the Cenozoic Pingnan basaltic rocks and the Mesozoic Pingle minettes in Guangxi Province (South China), suggest the presence of unexposed relict Archean basement beneath the western Cathaysia Block, where the oldest exposed rocks are Neoproterozoic-Phanerozoic in age.
