Prevalence of Anderson-Fabry disease in male patients with late onset hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
B Sachdev,Toshihiro Takenaka,Hiroyuki Teraguchi,Chuwa Tei,Philip J. Lee,WJ McKenna,Perry M. Elliott +6 more
TL;DR: The prevalence of a potentially treatable cause of hypertrophy, Anderson-Fabry disease, in a HCM referral population is determined and its recognition is important given the advent of specific replacement enzyme therapy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Size and motion of the mitral valve annulus in man. I. A two-dimensional echocardiographic method and findings in normal subjects.
TL;DR: Using wide-angle, phased-array, two-dimensional echocardiography, mitral leaflets and their annular attachments were recorded from a view close to the standard apical four-chamber view to provide new information about normal and abnormal function of the mitral valve apparatus.

Acute Hemodynamic Improvement by Thermal Vasodilation in Congestive Heart Failure
Chuwa Tei,Yutaka Horikiri,Jong-Chun Park,Jin-Won Jeong,Kyoung-Sig Chang,Yoshihumi Toyama,Nobuyuki Tanaka +6 more
TL;DR: Hemodynamics improve after WWB or SB in patients with chronic CHF, and thermal vasodilation can be applied with little risk if appropriately performed and may provide a new nonpharmacological therapy for CHF.
Journal ArticleDOI
Repeated thermal therapy improves impaired vascular endothelial function in patients with coronary risk factors
Masakazu Imamura,Sadatoshi Biro,Takashi Kihara,Shiro Yoshifuku,Kunitsugu Takasaki,Yutaka Otsuji,Shinichi Minagoe,Yoshifumi Toyama,Chuwa Tei +8 more
TL;DR: Repeated sauna therapy improves impaired vascular endothelial function in the setting of coronary risk factors, suggesting a therapeutic role for sauna treatment in patients with risk factors for atherosclerosis.
