Journal ArticleDOI
How many people need palliative care? A study developing and comparing methods for population-based estimates
Fliss E M Murtagh,Claudia Bausewein,Julia Verne,E. Iris Groeneveld,Yvonne E. Kaloki,Irene J Higginson +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors refine existing methods of estimating population-based need for palliative care and compare these methods with their own methods to understand the need for such care in planning services.
Journal ArticleDOI
Benzodiazepines for the relief of breathlessness in advanced malignant and non-malignant diseases in adults.
Steffen T. Simon,Irene J Higginson,Sara Booth,Richard Harding,Vera Weingärtner,Claudia Bausewein +5 more
TL;DR: Analysis of all studies did not show a beneficial effect of benzodiazepines for the relief of breathlessness in people with advanced cancer and COPD compared to placebo, midazolam, morphine, or promethazine, and there was no statistically significant effect in the prevention of episodic breathlessness.
Journal ArticleDOI
Non‐pharmacological interventions for breathlessness in advanced stages of malignant and non‐malignant diseases
TL;DR: The authors are developing a new protocol which will replace this review, and serves to update the existing review and incorporate the latest evidence into a new Cochrane Review.
