Structural joint inversion on irregular meshes

TL;DR: In this paper, a cross-gradient operator based on a correlation model that allows to define the operator size by imposing physical length scales is proposed. But the proposed operator is largely decoupled from the discretization of the modelling domain, which is particularly important for irregular meshes where cell sizes vary.
Journal ArticleDOI

Frequency-dependent traveltime tomography using fat rays: application to near-surface seismic imaging

TL;DR: In this paper, a frequency-dependent first arrival traveltime tomography was applied to surface seismic data that were acquired for exploration scale and near-surface seismic imaging, and the results showed that the best results were obtained when the frequency was chosen to correspond to an approximate wavelength-to-target depth ratio of 0.1.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Understanding the Impact of Karst on Seismic Wave Propagation - A Multi-method Geophysical Study

TL;DR: In this paper, a combined numerical-modeling and field-experiment study with the objectives to study the impact of karst on seismic wave propagation and to advance geophysical characterization of karast with seismic as well as non-seismic methods (electric and electromagnetic techniques).
