Acute behavioral crises in psychiatric inpatients with autism spectrum disorder (ASD): recognition of concomitant medical or non-ASD psychiatric conditions predicts enhanced improvement.

TL;DR: Assessment of risk factors associated with very acute behavioral crises in adolescents with ASD admitted to a dedicated neurobehavioral unit found no influence of age, gender, socio-economic status, migration, level of ID, or history of seizure on improvement of GAFS score at discharge.
Journal ArticleDOI

Autism, Joint Hypermobility-Related Disorders and Pain.

TL;DR: Considering the high probability that pain remains disregarded and untreated in people with ASD due to communication and methodological difficulties, increasing awareness about the interconnection between ASD and hypermobility-related disorders is relevant, since it may help identify those ASD patients susceptible to chronic pain.
Journal ArticleDOI

Developmental Phenotype of the Rare Case of DJ Caused by a Unique ADNP Gene De Novo Mutation.

TL;DR: ADNP is essential for brain formation with complete knockout resulting in neural tube closure defects and embryonic death in the mouse and with haploinsufficiency (heterozygosity) resulting in cognitive deficits in humans.
Journal ArticleDOI

Intérêt des unités neurocomportementales multidisciplinaires dans la prise en charge des décompensations aiguës des patients présentant un trouble du spectre autistique

TL;DR: Perisse et al. as mentioned in this paper investigated the troubles du comportement severes of adolescents atteints of the spectre autistique (TSA) atteintes of the TSA, and concluded that these troubles are caused by the causes organiques (epilepsie, pathologies), environnementales (absence de soins, trouble de l-adaptation) and psychiatriques (catatonie, episode depressif majeur, trouble bipolaire, schizophrenia) of adolescents.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cornelia de Lange and Ehlers-Danlos: comorbidity of two rare syndromes

TL;DR: A significant reduction in the self-harming behaviours was attained in a multidisciplinary neurobehavioural inpatient unit after addressing all causes of somatic pains, managing pain using level II and III analgesics, stabilising the patient's mood, limiting the iatrogenic effects of multiple prescriptions and offering a specific psychoeducational approach.
