TL;DR: The age relations for assembly of Gondwana and Pangea indicate that the timing of collisional orogenesis between amalgamating continental bodies was synchronous with subduction initiation and contractional orogens within accretionary orogens located along the margins of these supercontinents as mentioned in this paper.

TL;DR: The Bayankhongor ophiolite is interpreted to mark the collisional suture between the Baidrag and Hangai continental blocks in Central Asia as discussed by the authors, and it has been shown that the mechanism of Palaeozoic continental growth was by subduction-accretion with punctuated collisions that produced ophiolaitic sutures between accreted blocks.

Temporal constraints on Palaeoproterozoic eclogite formation and exhumation (Usagaran Orogen, Tanzania)
