Investigation of entrainment behavior and characteristics of gas–liquid ejectors based on CFD simulation

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the entrainment behavior and performance of gas-liquid ejector with different configurations and found that the entrained mass flow rate mS decreases linearly with the increasing pressure difference ΔP, while for fixed ΔP and secondary flow pressure PS, the entraining rate monotonically increases with an increase in primary flow pressure PP until a constant value is reached.
Journal ArticleDOI

Analysis on performance characteristics of ejector with variable area-ratio for multi-evaporator refrigeration system based on experimental data

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a study on experiment and analysis of variable area-ratio ejector used in a multi-evaporator refrigeration system (MERS), and the experimental rig and method are described, and the entrainment and pressure recovery performances of the variable ejector are measured at various operating and geometric conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Configuration dependence and optimization of the entrainment performance for gas–gas and gas–liquid ejectors

TL;DR: In this paper, a numerical study of entrainment behavior and its configuration dependence for gas-gas and gas-liquid ejectors is presented, where a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model is developed and experimental validation is undertaken over a wide range of operation conditions for ejector with different configurations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Pressure wave propagation characteristics in a two-phase flow pipeline for liquid-propellant rocket

TL;DR: In this paper, a pressure wave propagation model for gas-liquid two-phase flow with phase change taken into consideration is first proposed by using ensemble-averaging techniques, and then condensation of gas oxygen in subcooled liquid oxygen and the corresponding mixing process in pump pipeline are numerically simulated with the application of thermal phase change model in Computational Fluid Dynamics code CFX.
Journal ArticleDOI

CFD investigation of thermal and pressurization performance in LH2 tank during discharge

TL;DR: In this paper, a computational fluid dynamic (CFD) model is introduced to simulate the pressurized discharge event of liquid hydrogen (LH2) tank, and the wall region together with the fluid region is simultaneously considered as the computational domain, and low-Re k-e model is applied to account for the fluid-wall heat exchange effect.
