Journal ArticleDOI
Purkinje Cell Loss in Experimental Autoimmune Encephalomyelitis
Allan MacKenzie-Graham,Seema K. Tiwari-Woodruff,Gaurav Sharma,Cynthia Aguilar,Kieumai T. Vo,Lauren V. Strickland,Laurie Beth J. Morales,Boma Fubara,Melanie Martin,Russell E. Jacobs,G. Allan Johnson,Arthur W. Toga,Rhonda R. Voskuhl +12 more
TL;DR: The results demonstrate the power of using combined population atlasing and neuropathology approaches to discern novel insights underlying gray matter atrophy in animal models of neurodegenerative disease.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cerebellar cortical atrophy in experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis.
Allan MacKenzie-Graham,Matthew R. Tinsley,Kaanan P. Shah,Cynthia Aguilar,Lauren V. Strickland,Jyl Boline,Melanie Martin,Laurie Beth J. Morales,David W. Shattuck,Russell E. Jacobs,Rhonda R. Voskuhl,Arthur W. Toga +11 more
TL;DR: The data demonstrate that myelin-specific autoimmune responses can lead to grey matter atrophy in an otherwise normal CNS, and the model described herein can now be used to investigate neuropathologic mechanisms that lead to the development of gray matteratrophy in this setting.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cortical atrophy in experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis: In vivo imaging
Allan MacKenzie-Graham,Gilda A. Rinek,Andrea A Avedisian,Stefan M. Gold,Andrew Frew,Cynthia Aguilar,David R. Lin,Elizabeth Umeda,Rhonda R. Voskuhl,Jeffry R. Alger +9 more
TL;DR: The first report of progressive cortical atrophy in vivo in a mouse model of MS is reported, demonstrating that longitudinal in vivo imaging is more sensitive to changes that occur in neurodegenerative disease models than cross-sectional ex vivo imaging.
