Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of the neutron skin on collective states of nuclei.
TL;DR: Two well-known collective modes which correspond to the motion of neutrons with respect to protons, namely, the {ital M}1 (scissors) and the isovector {ital E1 (giant dipole) resonance are considered.
Journal ArticleDOI
Nuclear charge radii of proton-rich strontium isotopes
D A Eastham,Philip M Walker,J. R. H. Smith,D. D. Warner,J. A. R. Griffith,D. E. Evans,S. A. Wells,M. J. Fawcett,I. S. Grant +8 more
TL;DR: The odd-even staggering of the charge radius is found to be opposite to that normally encountered, indicating the possible existence of permanent octupole distortions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Rotational versus pseudo-L symmetries in the interacting boson-fermion-model description of deformed nuclei
TL;DR: A new limit of the SU(3) symmetry scheme of the interacting boson-fermion model is suggested for deformed odd-mass nuclei, in which states are characterized by the intrinsic quantum number $K$ instead of the pseudo-orbital angular momentum of previous multi-$j$ symmetries of this type.
