Test of detailed balance at isolated resonances in the reactions 27Al+p⇄24Mg+α and time reversibility

Inclusive inelastic electron scattering off the deuteron under 180 degrees has been studied at the S-DALINAC close to the breakup threshold at momentum transfers q=0.27 fm;{-1} and 0.74 fm;{-1} with good energy resolution sufficient to map in detail the spin flip M1 response, which governs the starting reaction pn-->dgamma of big-bang nucleosynthesis over most of the relevant temperature region. Results from potential model calculations and (for q=0.27 fm;{-1}) from pionless nuclear effective field theory are in excellent agreement with the data.

Wobble target holder for thin targets in intense light-and heavy-ion beams

The cross section for the reaction /sup 12/C(e, p)/sup 12/B has been measured at incident electron energies of E/sub 0/ = 21, 25, 35, 45, and 55 MeV at three different detection angles theta = 55/sup 0/, 90/sup 0/, and 125/sup 0/. This experiment provides new data for an estimate on the influence of electron-induced processes in the formation of /sup 11/B from /sup 12/C in astrophysical sites with large densities of high-energy electrons.
