Rapid tooling route selection for metal casting using QFD-ANP methodology

TL;DR: An integrated methodology using quality function deployment (QFD) and analytic network process (ANP) is proposed to determine and prioritize the engineering requirements of a cast part, based on the customer needs, for selecting and evaluating an appropriate rapid prototyping (RP)-based route for tooling fabrication.
Journal ArticleDOI

Computer-aided Reverse Engineering for Rapid Replacement of Parts

TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented methods and technologies for computer-aided reverse engineering, illustrated by a reallifecase study of an aluminium alloy separator body of a hydraulic filter assembly for the specialarmy vehicle.

Computer-Aided Reverse Engineering for Rapid Replacement Parts: A Case Study

TL;DR: In this paper, a real-life case study of an aluminium-alloy separator body of a hydraulic filter assembly for a special army vehicle was presented, which involved reconstruction of part geometry using 3D scanning, material identification using spectrometry, casting process optimisation using simulation software, and fabrication of prototype and tooling using rapid prototyping systems.
