A CW RFQ injector for the IUCF cyclotron

TL;DR: A major performance and reliability upgrade to replace the 600 kV Cockcroft Walton with a 700 keV proton CW RFQ as the pre-accelerator for the 15 MeV injector cyclotron is presented in this article.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

The Indiana University Cooler injector synchrotron RF system

TL;DR: In this paper, a 2.2 Tesla-m synchrotron with 17.4 m circumference was built at the Indiana University Cyclotron Facility (IUCF) to achieve higher luminosity for nuclear physics experiments using electron cooled polarized light ion beams.
Journal ArticleDOI

The scattering of 136 MeV protons from 6Li

TL;DR: Differential cross sections have been measured for the elastic scattering of 136 MeV protons from 6 Li, and for inelastic scattering to the first two excited states as discussed by the authors, but in both cases there is a discrepancy in absolute magnitude of a factor between 1.5 and 4.
Journal ArticleDOI

Electron Gun Design Study for the IUCF Beam Cooling System

TL;DR: In this article, the design of a low temperature electron beam cooling system for the Indiana University electron-cooled storage ring is in progress and a computer modeling study of the system was conducted to determine electron beam density and transverse temperature variations as a function of anode region and accelerator column design parameters.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Progress in commissioning the IUCF cooler

TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe the IUCF (Indiana University Cyclotron Facility) electron-cooled storage ring and the methods used in ramping the beam to higher energies.
