High Voltage System Design for the IUCF 300 KV Electron Cooling System

TL;DR: In this article, a summary of the electron beam high voltage system design for the IUCF Cooler, now under construction, is presented, along with the requirements of the associated power supplies.

Design of a 6 MeV electron cooling system for the SSC medium energy booster

TL;DR: A 6 MeV 2 A electron cooling system was designed for the SSC Medium Energy Booster (MEB) in this article, which will decrease the beam emittance by at least a factor of two in 25 to 60 s, consequently increasing the initial SSC luminosity by the same factor.
Journal ArticleDOI

Spectroscopy of 14C from the 11B(α,p)14C reaction at 118 MeV

TL;DR: In this paper, the weak coupling shell model wavefunctions of Lie were used in the DWBA calculations for states of 14 C below 12 MeV excitation energy, and for states above 14.8 MeV 3p-5h components in the 14 C wavefunction were shown to play a dominant role.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Nonlinear beam dynamics studies at the IUCF cooler ring

TL;DR: In this article, the nonlinear beam dynamics of transverse betatron oscillations were studied experimentally at the IUCF Cooler Ring and the properties of these islands were studied.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

CIS, a low energy injector for the IUCF cooler

TL;DR: In this paper, a low energy booster synchrotron for the injection of polarized light ions into the existing 3.6 T-m electron-cooled storage ring (cooler) is proposed.
