TL;DR: A 6 MeV 2 A electron cooling system was designed for the SSC Medium Energy Booster (MEB) in this article, which will decrease the beam emittance by at least a factor of two in 25 to 60 s, consequently increasing the initial SSC luminosity by the same factor.

TL;DR: In this paper, the weak coupling shell model wavefunctions of Lie were used in the DWBA calculations for states of 14 C below 12 MeV excitation energy, and for states above 14.8 MeV 3p-5h components in the 14 C wavefunction were shown to play a dominant role.
