Integrated Trajectory and Attitude Control for a Four -Vane Solar Sail

TL;DR: In this paper, a solar sail equipped with four control vanes is examined for their capabilities in trajectory tracking control, and the advantages in translationability and initial condition error recovery are compared with the traditional 2 degree of freedom thrust control approach, which does not independently modulate thrust magnitude.

Recent Advances in Heliogyro Solar Sail Structural Dynamics, Stability, and Control Research

TL;DR: In this paper, the structural dynamics, stability, and control characteristics of heliogyro solar sails are summarized, and a system identification procedure suitable for on-orbit blade dynamics investigations is also developed and validated using ground tests of spinning sub-scale heliogro blade models.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Performance of a Heliogyro Blade Twist Controller with Finite Bandwidth

TL;DR: In this article, the linearized dynamics of a single rotating heliogyro blade in twist are studied using finite element analysis, and a root control law is designed using frequency response techniques.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Concentration Gradient and Inform ation Energy for Decentralized UAV Control 1

TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe control techniques for managing a large sensor flock consisting of decentralized potential gradient and sensed data gradient guidance laws, which are defined to improve sensed data quality in both a scalar signal to noise ratio sense and in a vector gradient estimation sense.
