Journal ArticleDOI

Generalized correlations for predicting heat transfer and pressure drop in plate heat exchanger channels of arbitrary geometry

TL;DR: In this paper, the flow characteristics of the flow in chevron plate heat exchangers were investigated through visualization tests of channels with beta = 28 degrees and beta = 61 degrees.
Journal ArticleDOI

Numerically assisted analysis of flat and corrugated plate solar collectors thermal performances

TL;DR: In this article, the results of experimentally supported numerical analysis performed in order to investigate the possibilities to improve the thermal efficiency of plate solar collectors are presented, and two designs of collector without tubes, with parallel flat and corrugated absorber plates of chevron type, are further considered and shown to be an effective way to increase the thermal energy conversion beyond that of commercial glazed and unglazed solar water heaters.
Journal ArticleDOI

Dynamic modeling approach for determining buildings technical system energy performance

TL;DR: In this paper, a mathematical model for accurately predicting indoor temperature and heat losses of the space heating and domestic hot water system components is described by system of ordinary differential equations which can be solved using standard numerical techniques.
Journal Article

Influence of chevron plates geometry on performances of plate heat exchangers

TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of different geometric parameters such as the chevron angle, pressing depth b and corrugation wave length l on thermal-hydraulic performances of corrugated channels, commonly employed in plate heat exchangers, was investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Numerical and experimental approach for evaluation of thermal performances of a polymer solar collector

TL;DR: In this article, a 2D numerical and experimental approach which can be used to assess the thermal performances of a polymer solar collector as a part of the design process is presented. But the authors do not consider the solar incident radiation as an energy source computed analytically or via ray tracing software.
