Isolation of a Novel Family of C2H2 Zinc Finger Proteins Implicated in Transcriptional Repression Mediated by Chicken Ovalbumin Upstream Promoter Transcription Factor (COUP-TF) Orphan Nuclear Receptors
TL;DR: Two novel and related C2H2 zinc finger proteins that are highly expressed in the brain, CTIP1 and CTIP2 (COUPTF-interacting proteins1 and 2, respectively), were isolated and shown to interact with all members of the chicken ovalbumin upstream promoter transcription factor (Coup-TF) subfamily of orphan nuclear receptors.
Journal ArticleDOI
p300 Functions as a Coactivator for the Peroxisome Proliferator-activated Receptor α
TL;DR: The integrator protein, p300, was demonstrated to interact with mouse peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor α in a ligand-enhanced manner and can be considered a bona fide coactivator for this nuclear receptor.
Journal ArticleDOI
Identification of Nuclear Receptor Corepressor as a Peroxisome Proliferator-activated Receptor α Interacting Protein
TL;DR: Nuclear receptor corepressor appears to influence PPARα signaling pathways and, therefore, may modulate tissue responsiveness to peroxisome proliferators.
Journal ArticleDOI
Interaction of GRASP, a Protein encoded by a Novel Retinoic Acid-induced Gene, with Members of the Cytohesin Family of Guanine Nucleotide Exchange Factors
Daniel J. Nevrivy,Valerie J. Peterson,Dorina Avram,Jane E. Ishmael,Scott G. Hansen,Paul Dowell,Dennis E. Hruby,Marcia I. Dawson,Mark Leid +8 more
TL;DR: A novel, retinoic acid-induced gene, GRP1-associated scaffoldprotein (GRASP), was isolated from P19 embryonal carcinoma cells using a subtractive screening strategy and interacted strongly with the General Receptor for Phosphoinositides 1 (GRP1), a brefeldin A-insensitive guanine nucleotide exchange factor for the ADP-ribosylation factor family of proteins.
Journal ArticleDOI
Heterodimeric Interactions between Chicken Ovalbumin Upstream Promoter-Transcription Factor Family Members ARP1 and Ear2
Dorina Avram,Jane E. Ishmael,Daniel J. Nevrivy,Valerie J. Peterson,Suk-Hyung Lee,Paul Dowell,Mark Leid +6 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that ARP1 and Ear2 form heterodimers in solution and on directly repeated response elements with high efficiency and a specificity differing from that of homodimeric complexes composed of either receptor.
