Journal ArticleDOI
Optical imaging of cleavage stage bovine embryos using hyperspectral and confocal approaches reveals metabolic differences between on-time and fast-developing embryos.
Clara Ana Santos Monteiro,Darren J X Chow,Gabriela Ramos Leal,Tiffany C. Y. Tan,Ana Maria Reis Ferreira,Jeremy G. Thompson,Kylie R. Dunning +6 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that fast-developing embryos present a 'quiet' metabolic pattern on Day 2 and Day 4 of development, compared to on-time embryos, the first collective use of confocal and hyperspectral imaging in cleavage-stage bovine embryos in the absence of fluorescent tags.
Journal ArticleDOI
Non-invasive, label-free optical analysis to detect aneuploidy within the inner cell mass of the preimplantation embryo
Tiffany C. Y. Tan,Saabah B. Mahbub,Jared M. Campbell,Abbas Habibalahi,Carl A. Campugan,Ryan D Rose,Ryan D Rose,Darren J X Chow,Sanam Mustafa,Ewa M. Goldys,Kylie R. Dunning +10 more
TL;DR: It is shown that hyperspectral imaging of the preimplantation embryo does not impact on embryo developmental competence, pregnancy outcome and offspring health in a mouse model and the role of chance is low as both human somatic cells and mouse embryos showed a consistent shift in cellular metabolism.

Non-invasive, label-free optical analysis to detect aneuploidy within the inner cell mass of the preimplantation embryo
C. Y. Tan,Saabah B. Mahbub,Carl A. Campugan,Jared M. Campbell,Abbas Habibalahi,Darren J X Chow,Sanam Mustafa,Ewa M. Goldys,Kylie R. Dunning +8 more
TL;DR: The role of chance is low as multiple cellular models (human somatic cells and mouse embryos) demonstrated a consistent shift in cellular metabolism in response to aneuploidy as well as the robust capacity of mathematical features.
Journal ArticleDOI
The effect of discrete wavelengths of visible light on the developing murine embryo
Carl A. Campugan,Megan Lim,Darren J X Chow,Tiffany C. Y. Tan,Tong Li,Avishkar Saini,Antony Orth,Philipp Reineck,Erik P. Schartner,Jeremy G. Thompson,Kishan Dholakia,Kylie R. Dunning +11 more
TL;DR: In this article , the authors assess the impact of a range of wavelengths on the developing embryo and demonstrate that the impact is wavelength-specific, with longer wavelengths also impacting the embryo.
Journal ArticleDOI
