Definition of major bleeding in clinical investigations of antihemostatic medicinal products in surgical patients.

A prospective study of the incidence of deep‐vein thrombosis within a defined urban population

TL;DR: In a prospective study all positive phlebographies within the well‐defined population of the city of MalmÖ, Sweden, during 1987 were studied in order to determine the incidence of deep venous thrombosis (DVT), and risk factors were found to be in accordance with earlier studies.
Journal ArticleDOI

Low-Molecular-Weight Heparin (Enoxaparin) as Prophylaxis against Venous Thromboembolism after Total Hip Replacement

TL;DR: There were significantly fewer venous thromboembolic complications in patients undergoing elective hip replacement when prophylaxis with enoxaparin was given for a total of one month, rather than only during the hospitalization.
Journal ArticleDOI

Impaired homocysteine metabolism in early-onset cerebral and peripheral occlusive arterial disease. Effects of pyridoxine and folic acid treatment.

TL;DR: Data show that a substantial proportion of patients with early-onset vascular disease have impaired homocysteine metabolism, which may contribute to vascular disease, and that the impaired metabolism can be improved easily and without side effects.
