Characterization of three serine esterases isolated from human IL-2 activated killer cells.
TL;DR: Human peripheral blood mononuclear cells, activated for 14 to 20 days with 1000 U/ml rIL-2, develop strong cytotoxicity for NK sensitive and resistant targets and by the expression of esterase activity cleaving the synthetic substrate BLT, was purified and characterized.

TL;DR: The most striking aspect of lymphocyte-mediated cytolysis is the formation of membrane lesions on target membranes as first described by Dourmashkin et al. (1980), which led to the concept that some aspects of lymphocytes-mediated Cytolytic rat tumor cell line of large granular morphology are quite similar to the mechanism of complement- mediated cy tolysis.
