D5.10 - Interaction of the tsunami with the seabed. Implications for wind farms, aquaculture, coastal ecosystems and marine protected areas.

TL;DR: In this article, a fully coupled hydrodynamic and morphologic numerical model is presented, and utilized for the simulation of tsunami-induced scour around a monopile structure, representative of those commonly utilized as offshore wind turbine foundations at moderate depths.
Journal ArticleDOI

Temporal scouring and backfilling processes around a pile group subject to unsteady hydrographs

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the temporal scouring around pile groups subjected to single peak hydrographs in clear-water conditions and found that the scouring depths around rear piles downstream of the lead could be decreased by up to 24% of the pile diameter.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Towards an Engineering Model for Profile Evolution: Detailed 3D Sediment Transport Modelling

TL;DR: In this paper, a morpho-dynamic 3D surf-zone model using the MIKE 3 Wave FM model is presented. But the model is not suitable for the 3D Navier-Stokes equations on a 2D horizontal unstructured mesh with a sigma transformation describing vertical coordinate.
