Ultrafast Path for Optical Magnetization Reversal via a Strongly Nonequilibrium State
K. Vahaplar,Alexandra M. Kalashnikova,Alexandra M. Kalashnikova,Alexey Kimel,Denise Hinzke,Ulrich Nowak,Roy W. Chantrell,Arata Tsukamoto,Arata Tsukamoto,Akiyoshi Itoh,Andrei Kirilyuk,Theo Rasing +11 more
TL;DR: Using time-resolved single-shot pump-probe microscopy the mechanism and the time scale of all-optical magnetization reversal by a single circularly polarized 100 fs laser pulse are unveiled and it is demonstrated that for a 5 microm domain the magnetic information can be recorded and readout within 30 ps, which is the fastest "write-read" event demonstrated for magnetic recording so far.
Journal ArticleDOI
All-optical magnetization reversal by circularly polarized laser pulses: Experiment and multiscale modeling
K. Vahaplar,Alexandra M. Kalashnikova,Alexey Kimel,Stefan Gerlach,Denise Hinzke,Ulrich Nowak,Roy W. Chantrell,Arata Tsukamoto,Arata Tsukamoto,Akiyoshi Itoh,Andrei Kirilyuk,Theo Rasing +11 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present results of detailed experimental and theoretical studies of all-optical magnetization reversal by single circularly-polarized laser pulses in ferrimagnetic rare earth transition metal alloys.
Journal ArticleDOI
Length Scale of the Spin Seebeck Effect.
Andreas Kehlberger,Ulrike Ritzmann,Denise Hinzke,Er-Jia Guo,Joel Cramer,Gerhard Jakob,Mehmet C. Onbasli,Dong-Hun Kim,Caroline A. Ross,Matthias B. Jungfleisch,Matthias B. Jungfleisch,Burkard Hillebrands,Ulrich Nowak,Mathias Kläui +13 more
TL;DR: Comparison to numerical simulations of thermal magnonic spin currents yields qualitative agreement for the thickness dependence resulting from the finite magnon propagation length and at low temperature, even quantitative agreement with the simulations is found.
Journal ArticleDOI
Domain wall motion by the magnonic spin Seebeck effect
Denise Hinzke,Ulrich Nowak +1 more
TL;DR: It is shown that magnonic spin currents caused by temperature gradients lead to spin transfer torque effects, which can drag a domain wall in a ferromagnetic nanostructure towards the hotter part of the wire.
Journal ArticleDOI
Stochastic form of the Landau-Lifshitz-Bloch equation
Richard F. L. Evans,Denise Hinzke,Unai Atxitia,Ulrich Nowak,Roy W. Chantrell,Oksana Chubykalo-Fesenko +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, two stochastic forms of the Landau-Lifshitzitz-Bloch equation are discussed and compared with the Boltzmann distribution at high temperatures.
