TL;DR: This patient-level meta-analysis of BRPC patients treated with neoadjuvant FOLFIRINOX showed a favorable median OS, resection rate, and R0-resection rate, which need to be assessed in a randomized trial.
Journal ArticleDOI
The impact of comorbidity upon determinants of outcome in patients with lung cancer
Derek Grose,David S. Morrison,Graham Devereux,Richard Jones,Dave Sharma,Colin Selby,Kirsty Docherty,David McIntosh,Marianne Nicolson,Donald C. McMillan,Robert Milroy +10 more
TL;DR: A large unselected population based cohort study of lung cancer patients has demonstrated that a number of important factors have significant impact in terms of survival, and has compared very favourably with the more established CCI.
Journal ArticleDOI

Derek Grose,David S. Morrison,Graham Devereux,Richard Jones,Dave Sharma,Colin Selby,Kirsty Docherty,David McIntosh,Greig Louden,Marianne Nicolson,Donald C. McMillan,Robert Milroy +11 more
TL;DR: There is a high prevalence of multiple, severe comorbidities in patients with newly diagnosed lung cancer in Scottish patients with lung cancer, and these vary by site and treatment group.
Journal ArticleDOI
12 week PET-CT has low positive predictive value for nodal residual disease in human papillomavirus-positive oropharyngeal cancers
R. Rulach,S. Zhou,Fraser Hendry,David Stobo,Allan James,Mary-Frances Dempsey,Derek Grose,C. Lamb,S. Schipani,M. Rizwanullah,C. Wilson,Claire Paterson +11 more
TL;DR: HPV positive tumours have a poor PPV of 30% on 12 week surveillance PET-CTs and take longer to achieve complete response, which means a period of further surveillance can be considered instead of an immediate neck dissection in this group of patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
The influence of MRI scan position on patients with oropharyngeal cancer undergoing radical radiotherapy
Scott Lewis Hanvey,Scott Lewis Hanvey,M. McJury,M. McJury,L.M. Tho,M. Glegg,M. Thomson,Derek Grose,Allan James,M. Rizwanullah,Claire Paterson,John Bellamy Foster,John Bellamy Foster +12 more
TL;DR: When oropharyngeal patients MRI scans are performed in the radiotherapy position there are significant improvements in CT-MR image registration, target definition and PTV dose coverage.
