Apoptosis inducing effect of plumbagin on colonic cancer cells depends on expression of COX-2.

TL;DR: Investigating the anti-proliferative and apoptotic activity of plumbagin by using two human colonic cancer cell lines found it induces apoptosis in Colonic cancer cells through TNF-α mediated pathway depending on expression of COX-2 expression.
Journal ArticleDOI

Morin attenuates diethylnitrosamine-induced rat liver fibrosis and hepatic stellate cell activation by co-ordinated regulation of Hippo/Yap and TGF-β1/Smad signaling.

TL;DR: Results clearly showed that, morin by acting on Hippo/Yap and TGF-β1/Smad pathways, ameliorated experimental liver fibrosis, indicating that morin has potential for effective treatment of Liver fibrosis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Methylated chrysin induces co-ordinated attenuation of the canonical Wnt and NF-kB signaling pathway and upregulates apoptotic gene expression in the early hepatocarcinogenesis rat model.

TL;DR: Investigation of the effects of DMF administration on gene expression changes related to the inflammation-mediated NF-kB pathway, Wnt pathway and apoptotic mediators in DEN-induced preneoplastic nodules provides evidence that attenuation of Wnt pathways and suppression of inflammatory response mediated by NF-VK could be implicated, in part, in the chemopreventive effects of methylated flavone.
Journal ArticleDOI

Myricetin induces apoptosis by inhibiting P21 activated kinase 1 (PAK1) signaling cascade in hepatocellular carcinoma

TL;DR: The results provide striking evidence that the myricetin inhibits the development of HCC by inhibiting PAK1 via coordinate abrogation of MAPK/ERK and PI3K/AKT and their downstream signaling Wnt/β-catenin pathway, thus being a promising candidate for cancer prevention and therapy.
