Journal ArticleDOI
Comparison of Dopamine and Norepinephrine in the Treatment of Shock
Daniel De Backer,Patrick Biston,Jacques Devriendt,C Madl,Didier Chochrad,Cesar Aldecoa,Alexandre Brasseur,Pierre Defrance,Philippe Gottignies,Jean Louis Vincent +9 more
TL;DR: Although there was no significant difference in the rate of death between patients with shock who were treated with dopamine as the first-line vasopressor agent and those who were treating with norepinephrine, the use of dopamine was associated with a greater number of adverse events.
Journal ArticleDOI
Outcome of elderly patients with circulatory failure
Patrick Biston,Cesar Aldecoa,Jacques Devriendt,C Madl,Didier Chochrad,Jean Louis Vincent,Daniel De Backer +6 more
TL;DR: Ageing is independently associated with higher mortality rates in patients with circulatory failure, whatever the etiology.
Journal ArticleDOI
Use of low tidal volume in septic shock may decrease severity of subsequent acute lung injury.
Fuhong Su,Nam Duc Nguyen,Jacques Creteur,Ying Cai,Nathalie Nagy,Hoang Anh-Dung,André Carlos Kajdacsy-Balla Amaral,Frederico Bruzzi de Carvalho,Didier Chochrad,Jean Louis Vincent +9 more
TL;DR: A low-tidal-volume ventilation strategy applied early during septic shock may be beneficial in terms of reducing the amount of lung edema and prolonging survival time.
