Journal ArticleDOI
Guidelines for laparoscopic (TAPP) and endoscopic (TEP) treatment of inguinal hernia.
TL;DR: The technique must once again be clarified in more precise terms and mesh fixation to Cooper’s ligament with staples tends to be more suitable for prevention of a clinically palpable seroma with protrusion of the skin in the groin after a TEP operation for direct hernias.
Journal ArticleDOI
TEP versus TAPP: comparison of the perioperative outcome in 17,587 patients with a primary unilateral inguinal hernia.
Ferdinand Köckerling,Reinhard Bittner,Dietmar Jacob,L. Seidelmann,Thomas Keller,D Adolf,B. Kraft,A. Kuthe +7 more
TL;DR: The intraoperative and general postoperative complication rates as well as the reoperation rate for complications show no significant difference between TEP and TAPP, which is partly explained by larger defect sizes, more scrotal hernias and older age.
Journal ArticleDOI
Herniamed : an Internet-based registry for outcome research in hernia surgery
TL;DR: The new Internet-based English- and German-language hernia register for the entire spectrum of inpatient and outpatient hernia surgery is designed to improve the quality of patient care and provide valid data on outcome research.
Journal ArticleDOI
Sirolimus inhibits growth of human hepatoma cells alone or combined with tacrolimus, while tacrolimus promotes cell growth.
Guido Schumacher,Marijke Oidtmann,Anne Rueggeberg,Dietmar Jacob,Sven Jonas,Jan M. Langrehr,Ruth Neuhaus,Marcus Bahra,Peter Neuhaus +8 more
TL;DR: Sirolimus appears to inhibit the growth of hepatocellular carcinoma cells alone and in combination with tacrolimus.
