Problems of control of the reactivity of macroradicals and the growth of polymer chains
TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of stable radicals, iniferters, organoelement compounds and other active additives on the reactivity of macroradicals and the elementary steps of the (co)polymerisation of acrylic and some other monomers are generalised.
Journal ArticleDOI
Carborane complexes of ruthenium(III): studies on thermal reaction chemistry and the catalyst design for atom transfer radical polymerization of methyl methacrylate.
Ivan D. Grishin,Dmitrii I. D’yachihin,Alexander V. Piskunov,Fedor M. Dolgushin,Alexander F. Smol'yakov,Mikhail M. Il’in,Vadim A. Davankov,Igor T. Chizhevsky,Dmitry F. Grishin +8 more
TL;DR: Ruthenacarboranes 3-5 and 7 all display high efficiency as catalysts for the atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) of methyl methacrylate (MMA) and gave the best catalyst performance in terms of polydispersity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Nitroxide radicals formed in situ as polymer chain growth regulators
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors focused on the mechanism of polymer chain growth control during reversibly inhibited radical homopolymerization and the effect of structure of precursors and regulating additives on the polymerization kinetics of monomers of different nature and the molecular-mass characteristics of the polymers thus formed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Facile method for the synthesis of ruthenacarboranes, diamagnetic 3,3 -[Ph2P (CH2)nPPh2]-3-H-3-Cl-closo-3,1,2-RuC2B9H11 (n = 3 or 4) and paramagnetic 3,3 -[Ph2P (CH2)nPPh2] -3 -Cl -closo -3,1,2 -RuC2B9H11 (n = 2 or 3), as efficient initiators of controlled radical polymerization of vinyl monomers

TL;DR: In this paper, a facile preparative procedure was developed for the synthesis of 17 and 18-electron closo-(diphosphine)ruthenacarborane complexes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ruthenium carborane complexes in the controlled radical polymerization of methyl methacrylate
E. V. Kolyakina,Ivan D. Grishin,D. N. Cheredilin,F. M. Dolgushin,Igor T. Chizhevsky,Dmitry F. Grishin +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, new initiators based on closo and exo-nido-ruthenacarboranes with phosphine and diphosphine ligands were proposed as chain growth regulators.
