Organic acids and sugars composition of harvested pomegranate fruits

TL;DR: For two consecutive seasons, 40 Spanish pomegranate cultivars (cvs) were analyzed and their individual organic acids and sugars compositions were examined as mentioned in this paper, according to organoleptic characteristics and chemical compositions three groups of varieties were established: sweet (SWV), soursweet (SSWV) and sour (SV).
Journal ArticleDOI

Fatty acid, vitamin E and sterols composition of seed oils from nine different pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) cultivars grown in Spain.

TL;DR: After performing principal component analysis, intercultivar differences were found, a potential tool for cultivar authenticity purposes, and the ingestion of pomegranate arils, with their seeds, increases their beneficial health properties.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of hot-water treatments above 50°C on grapevine viability and survival of Petri disease pathogens.

TL;DR: Results demonstrated that it is possible to hot-water treat grapevine planting material in Spanish nurseries using protocols with temperatures of up to 50 °C and HWTs at 53 ° C are able to eliminate Pa. chlamydospora completely and strongly reduce the re-isolation of Pm.
Journal ArticleDOI

Regional Origin Assignment of Red Wines from Valencia (Spain) by 2H NMR and 13C IRMS Stable Isotope Analysis of Fermentative Ethanol

TL;DR: Multivariate discriminant analysis is shown to provide a convenient means for integration of the classifying information, high discriminating abilities being demonstrated for the (2)H and (13)C fingerprints of ethanol.
Journal ArticleDOI

Physicochemical composition and antioxidant activity of several pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) cultivars grown in Spain

TL;DR: In this article, nine pomegranate cultivars grown in Spain were selected, and their physicochemical (total soluble solids, pH, titratable acidity, maturity index, monomeric anthocyanin pigment, flavonoids, hydrolyzable tannins, and vitamin C) and antioxidant properties and polyphenolic composition of the juices were compared.
