On the Electrochemical Reactivity Mechanism of CoSb3 vs. Lithium

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that CoSb 3 vs. Li 3 Sb dealloying reaction is a chemical reaction between Co and Sb nanograins, in a manner similar to that previously reported for CoO.
Journal ArticleDOI

Biosynthesis of Co3O4 electrode materials by peptide and phage engineering: comprehension and future

TL;DR: The importance of a tetra-peptide motif in the Co3O4 nucleation/texturation process is spotted, suggesting that the structure of the whole phage is not necessary for the production of the nanoparticles, and the use of self-organized peptides or engineered bacteria for the templated synthesis of materials on a larger scale is proposed.

Nanocomposite material for the anode of a lithium cell

TL;DR: In this paper, an anode material of the silicon-carbon composite type, for a lithium cell, having a high mass capacity and good cycling stability, is presented. But this material is obtained by a preparation method comprising the steps consisting of: a) providing a silicon powder obtained by the plasmaenhanced chemical vapour deposition (PECVD) technique or by CO 2 laser, the size of silicon particles being less than 100 nm; b) mixing the silicon powder with a carbon-containing polymer, and c) carrying out the pyrolysis of the mixture.
