Journal ArticleDOI
Accurate differentiation of parkinsonism and essential tremor using visual assessment of [123I]-FP-CIT SPECT imaging: the [123I]-FP-CIT study group.
Hani T.S. Benamer,Jim Patterson,Donald G. Grosset,Jan Booij,K. De Bruin,E. A. Van Royen,Johannes D. Speelman,M. H. I. M. Horstink,H. J. W. A. Sips,Rudi Dierckx,J. Versijpt,Danny Decoo,C. Van Der Linden,Donald M. Hadley,M. Doder,A. J. Lees,Durval C. Costa,S. Gacinovic,Wolfgang H. Oertel,Oliver Pogarell,Helmut Hoeffken,K. Joseph,Klaus Tatsch,J. Schwarz,V. Ries +24 more
TL;DR: To evaluate whether visual assessment of [123I]‐FP‐CIT (DaTSCAN) single photon emission computerized tomography (SPECT) images can differentiate between parkinsonism and essential tremor (ET), a blinded study is conducted.
Journal ArticleDOI
Toxicity evaluation of replication-competent herpes simplex virus (ICP 34.5 null mutant 1716) in patients with recurrent malignant glioma.
R. Rampling,Garth Cruickshank,V Papanastassiou,James A. R. Nicoll,Donald M. Hadley,David Brennan,Russell D. Petty,Alasdair Roderick Maclean,J Harland,E A McKie,R Mabbs,M Brown +11 more
TL;DR: This study demonstrates the feasibility of using replication-competent HSV in human therapy by evaluating the safety of 1716 in patients with relapsed malignant glioma and finding no induction of encephalitis, no adverse clinical symptoms, and no reactivation of latent HSV.
Journal ArticleDOI
Correlation of Parkinson's disease severity and duration with 123I-FP-CIT SPECT striatal uptake.
Hani T.S. Benamer,Jim Patterson,David J. Wyper,Donald M. Hadley,Graeme Macphee,Donald G. Grosset +5 more
TL;DR: Assessment of dopamine transporters using 123I‐FP‐CIT SPECT provides further evidence that the SP:NS ratio is a robust measure of disease severity correlating with duration of PD, but variability in uptake values suggest that factors other than nigrostriatal degeneration may contribute to disease severity.
Journal ArticleDOI
The potential for efficacy of the modified (ICP 34.5(-)) herpes simplex virus HSV1716 following intratumoural injection into human malignant glioma: a proof of principle study.
V Papanastassiou,R Rampling,M Fraser,Russell D. Petty,Donald M. Hadley,James A. R. Nicoll,J Harland,R Mabbs,M Brown +8 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that HSV1716 replicates in HGG without causing toxicity in both HSV-seropositive and -seronegative patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
HSV1716 injection into the brain adjacent to tumour following surgical resection of high-grade glioma: safety data and long-term survival.
S Harrow,S Harrow,V Papanastassiou,J Harland,R Mabbs,Russell D. Petty,M Fraser,Donald M. Hadley,James Patterson,S M Brown,R Rampling +10 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that following surgical resection, HSV1716 is safe when injected into the brain adjacent to excised tumour as well as survival and imaging data, in addition to the lack of toxicity, give confidence to proceed to a clinical trial to demonstrate efficacy of HSV 1716 in glioma patients.
