Load dependent sensor placement method: Theory and experimental validation

TL;DR: In this article, a load dependent sensor placement method is developed by taking into consideration both structural dynamic characteristics and actual loading conditions, and the objective is to achieve a nearly global unbiased estimate of modal coordinates, and consequently best modal and damage identification.
Journal ArticleDOI

A note on fast computation of effective independence through QR downdating for sensor placement

TL;DR: A simple and fast computational algorithm based on the relationship between the Effective Independence and Modal Kinetic Energy method, and on a downdating algorithm of the QR decomposition for a reduced modal matrix for sensor placement is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

On Optimal Sensor Placement Criterion for Structural Health Monitoring with Representative Least Squares Method

TL;DR: In this paper, a sensor placement criterion derived by the Representative Least Squares method is proposed for structural health monitoring after five influencing criteria are critically reviewed, the objective of the proposed criterion is to achieve best identification of modal frequencies and mode shapes through almost unbiased estimation of the modal coordinates.
