Microstructure and mechanical properties of pure copper manufactured by selective laser melting

TL;DR: In this article, the influence of laser linear energy density on the microstructures and mechanical properties of the SLM copper samples were investigated theoretically and experimentally, and it was shown that nearly full dense copper with desirable mechanical properties can be fabricated through SLM.
Journal ArticleDOI

Study of the microstructure and mechanical performance of C-X stainless steel processed by selective laser melting (SLM)

TL;DR: In this paper, a new precipitation hardening stainless steel (PHSS), C-X stainless steel, was manufactured using selective laser melting (SLM) technology, and a series of heat treatments were applied to improve the mechanical properties of the as-built samples.
Journal ArticleDOI

Selective laser melting (SLM) of CX stainless steel: Theoretical calculation, process optimization and strengthening mechanism

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of laser linear energy density on the microstructure characteristics, phase distribution, crystallographic orientation and mechanical properties of these CX stainless steel samples were investigated theoretically and experimentally via scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD), and transmission electron microscope (TEM).
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of building directions on the surface roughness, microstructure, and tribological properties of selective laser melted Inconel 625

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of the building directions on surface macro- / micro- structure and tribological properties of Inconel 625 samples manufactured by selective laser melting (SLM) technology was investigated.
